STUDENT EMPLOYMENT

McNally Smith College of Music provides student employment opportunities to assist music college students with financing college costs while gaining work experience and furthering career goals. Applications will only be accepted when a position is open. Priority will be given to returning student employees. New music student applications will be ranked by interest, financial need, and FAFSA application date.


Effective September 8, 2008, all students workers must be in good academic standing.  This rule has been put in place to promote academics as the priority for students here. Any student worker placed on academic probation for a semester will no longer be scheduled working hours for that term and may be replaced by another work applicant.  The student employment job is not guaranteed upon return to a good academic status.

Starting Wage Levels

Level 1$8.00/hr.Most on-campus positions begin at this level.
Level 2$9.00/hr.Most off-campus community service positions begin and remain at this level.
Level 3$10.00/hr.Reserved for students in a supervisory position.

Duties include:

Checking in and out equipment

Controlling access to the practice rooms

Light Cleaning and Repairs

Applicants should be a student in good standing, able to work up to 20 hours per week, mostly nights and weekends. Pick up your application at the front desk and return it to Human Resources by September 12th.
