In preparation for a career as a Recording Engineer or Music Producer, music technology students work with industry professionals in McNally Smith's advanced studio complex.
We teach the concepts, skills, and techniques that will serve you for a lifetime of creating and producing great music. You’ll start in our analog labs. From there you’ll progress to analog/digital studios to fully digital studios – where students get experience in 5.1 surround sound using the state of the art Digidesign Icon worksurface, and take their base skills to blockbuster potential.

The A.A.S. Music Performance degree program brings together experienced professional musicians and talented students to complete a thorough music curriculum focused on aural skills, music theory, technique, interpretation, and ensemble work.

Associate of Fine Arts in Music Performance

The A.F.A. is a sound choice for the music student who prefers a less performance-intensive two-year music program, or wants to build the foundation for a Music Bachelor's Degree. Aural skills, music theory, technique, interpretation, and ensemble work are balanced by liberal arts studies developed for and by professional musicians.

Associate of Applied Science in Music Business

Music Business students work with experienced faculty to acquire the professional skills necessary to compete in the global music entertainment industry. This music degree program includes the study of copyright and contract law, artist management, promotion, music publishing, and small business development.
