SUSAN E. O'NEIL SCHOLARSHIP

The Susan E. O'Neil Scholarship is a one-time award presented to a vocal applicant at McNally Smith College who:

   1. best demonstrates his or her ambition to pursue a career in music
   2. exhibits strong abilities in voice
   3. has maintained a good academic record
   4. demonstrates financial need.

AwardThe scholarship is a one-time award of $1,200. The student must maintain full-time status through completion of the academic year awarded.
Eligible ApplicantsAny vocal student who will be attending the 2008-2009 school year at McNally Smith College.

Criteria
Scholarship applicants must submit a McNally Smith College of Music scholarship application (available for download), official high school/college transcripts, an audition for admissions, and two letters of reference and/or faculty recommendations.
DeadlineApplications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2008.
AcceptanceApplicants must be a current McNally Smith College vocal student, or have applied for admission by March 1, 2008.

Scholarship recipients may be expected to represent McNally Smith College in promoting music education at public and/or school-related events, as well as be a role model for other students.


About Susan E. O'Neil:

Susan E. O'Neil has been a professional singer for 30 years and was the Director of the New York Metropolitan Opera District and Regional Auditions. Susan was the Director of Arts, Nonprofits and Technology for Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson and founded the Global Artist Café in Saint Paul. Susan served on the Board of Directors of McNally Smith College for eight years.
