SCHMITT MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

The Schmitt Music Scholarship is a one-time award presented to a music performance applicant at McNally Smith College who:

   1. best demonstrates his or her ambition to pursue careers in music
   2. exhibit strong abilities as a performer
   3. has maintained a good academic record
   4. demonstrate financial need.

Preference is given to applicants who are currently taking lessons at a Schmitt Music store.

AwardsThe scholarship is a one-time award of $1,000.  The student must maintain full-time status through completion of the academic year awarded.
Eligible ApplicantsAny music performance student who will be attending the 2008-2009 school year at McNally Smith College.
Eligible
Criteria		Scholarship applicants must submit a McNally Smith College of Music scholarship application (available for download), official high school/college transcripts, an audition for admissions, and two letters of reference and/or faculty recommendations.
DeadlineApplications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2008.
AcceptanceApplicants must be a current McNally Smith College music performance student, or have applied for admission by March 1, 2008.

Scholarship recipients may be expected to represent McNally Smith College in promoting music education at public and/or school-related events, as well as be a role model for other students.
