• Industry Leaders Presented the Center for Progressive Media Studies Symposium at McNally Smith
  Los Angeles-based music executive Ron Sobel and Twin Cities punk rock icon Chris Osgood presented the one-day symposium for music degree graduates and those seeking a career in the music industry at the St. Paul campus of McNally Smith.
• McNally Smith Chair of Music Business Ron Sobel Appears on L.A. Radio Show
  On May 17, Ron Sobel was a featured guest on the radio show “Samm Brown’s For The Record” on KPFK-FM in Los Angeles. Sobel, who is Chair of the Music Business department at McNally Smith College of Music, was invited to talk about the music publishing business.
• McNally Smith and Hip-Hop In the News and On the Stage
  McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN, made the news during the week of May 18 in the Twin Cities thanks to major upcoming events on the hip-hop scene. Much much of the attention was focused on McNally Smith’s Hip-Hop degree program coordinator, Toki Wright.

• McNally Smith College of Music Spring 2009 Commencement
  Dan Wilson, a Grammy® winning songwriter who is also an acclaimed solo artist and founder of the group Semisonic, delivered the commencement address at the McNally Smith College of Music graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 2, 2009.
• McNally Smith Announces 2009 Summer Workshops
  Hip Hop, Guitar and Jazz Workshops, plus a Music Industry Experience camp, connects McNally Smith’s award-winning faculty with a wide range of music students.
• McNally Smith Helps Bring a “Battle of the Bands” to Duluth
  On April 19, 2009, McNally Smith College of Music’s Technology Department helped sponsor the Duluth chapter of Junior Achievement’s annual “Battle of the Bands.”
